We were in need of some emergency money and we went on the Money Mutual site who in turn sent us to AWL!! The loan process its self of course was easy ...TOO EASY !!
Because they don't explain the Terms, we thought it was a single payment a month.. But I found out it was a semi monthly payment !!! We couldn't afford that !!!! Not twice a month I called them to explain we couldn't & was told " There is nothing they can do" it was the borrowers job to read the loan terms !!!
WE had to think and react fast because those idiots we're going to debit our account again next week ... So we called Check n Go took out a loan thru them so we could pay back these JERKOFFS.... I Called today !!!

Bad business
Received loan of 800.00 ended up paying back 3000.00. I refused to pay back any more, contacted my states attorney general, and the FTC.
Please visit the FTC site. The Attorney General in my state has opened an investigation into the lending practices of this company. I was told that this lender WAS NOT authorized to due business in my state. I also contacted a lawyer.
I advise y'all to do the same.
I received an email from AWL stating that my account had been settled but that's not good enough for me. It is the principle and they are simply wrong.
- Get your credit right
- Scam
- Do your research
Preferred solution: There is nothing that they can do except for go out of business. They take advantage of individuals and i would like everyone who has had negative dealing with them to not only complain, but to go after them in a civil court.
did your attorney contact them?
Oh my god. This is a scam.
They want $3200 for a $700 loan. How do I make this stop?
American Web Loan's reply to: AWL are Scammers!!!
AWL are Scammers!!!
How can i begin with this out right no good Scamming Company!!! When you apply for a loan from them, they make you think besides the principal you have an interest to pay as well.
Oh here is the kicker what they do not tell you is all your payments only go for the interest. Not the principal. Why???? because they are leeches who want you to pay them way beyond the loan you took out.
I am so disgusted about companies like these who prey on down hard luck people in time of need. Do your research before you decide to apply from a loan from them.
Ask questions, get everything in writing or an email. Do not let them take advantage of you!!!
That is exactly what the contract says they are going to do. You just need to read before you sign. They didn't scam you out of anything.
Please I need someone to help me out And tell me exactly what to do if anyone experienced what am going thought right now with that company AWL
I got 500 dol from them last December and the guy was clear with me the fee will be 150 doll I asked him twice the total I have to pay he said 650, 500 the loan and 150 fee. He said every two weeks they gonna take 150 in my pay check, so now after 4 payments of 150 I checked my balance, my big surprise they told me they was a misunderstood cause that 150 they gonna take it each paid check for 7 months so 2 times each months so 14 times, that's stealing money from people, please anybody tell me what to do or were to go cause I can't afford a lawyer and am not making enough money every weeks to give that people 150 dollars every two weeks, thanks

I've been paying on my loan of $500 for over 4 mos I called today to hear my balance so I can see how many more payments and they told me my payoff balance is $520 how could that be when I've been paying $120 every week. Found out the $120 only going towards my interest not the loan at all...They never told me that when setting up a payments plan we agreed $120 weekly I assumed a portion of that was interest and portion going towards loan NONE OF MY PAYMENTS WENT TOWARDS MY LOAN....
I would never recommend this company nor would I ever use something like this again. They are scammers, and fraudulent..

BEWARE, THEY ARE A WORST THAN LOAN SHARKS
Borrowed $500 for some quick cash, told by customer service they would take $150 bi-weekly to pay off loan, after paying them $600 in 2 months I logged in to see what the remaining balance was to pay off and learned that none of the payments went towards any of the loan principal balance. I even offered to call back the next week to pay off the loan and the customer service rep said no it would be paid off in a couple of months.
They are a worst than loan sharks because they are ripping off customers without any penalties. Stay away from this company, they are scammers and don't give you the bottomline to the loan.
Wish I had read the reviews before I took out the quick loan. They make it easy in the beginning but it cost you immensely.

Please anyone out there who has good sense read the reviews on AWL loans. You will see the majority of them are pissed because AWL does not tell you up front, when you are paying flexible payments it,s only going for interest So a $400.
00 will cost you over $2000. Higher if you borrowed more. I know they were not honest with me. With the $400 loan i took out and the 120 for interest is what was quoted to me i agreed.
Paid the $520.00 in flexible payments. I thought i was done, they took another payment from my account. Went on website to find any complaints on them. Found pissed Consumer!!!!
Read peoples complaints. Called my bank told them what was going on, they helped me cancel my acct and start a new one. OH and just so you know after a couple emails they sent me, they consider my account to be paid in full.
I kept that email. I hope this helps someone else out about this crooked company.
I called AWL and asked about what was happening with my account. The customer service representative was anything but that.
I am definitely going to contact my bank about this and cancel.
Call your bank and be honest and let them know what has happened. My bank worked with me and stopped them from taking money from my account.
AWL does not care about anyone.
All they want to do is rip people off. God bless and good luck.

We are absolutely livid with awl. They screwed us over big time.
They tried to take the money out of our account 3 day's before it was due (mind you it was our 1st payment) so I called the day befor it was due to make the payment thats when I found out that they processed our account and we didn't have it in the account when they were snakes and trying to be slick so they said give it 2 days to come back to us and then u can make the payment so we did wat they said called back 2 days later and they already had it in the recovery department for lack of payment that THEY wouldn't let us pay TWICE! Then the call acting like jerks treating us like we did something wrong. Then they took money out recently w/o our permission or knowledge.
DO NOT EVER GET A LOAN THROUGH AMERICANS WEB LOANS! They are nothing but snakes in the grass!
American Web Loan's reply to: Pleasantly surprised, very easy.

I was in a tough spot and needed some extra funds immediately. I knew I would be able to pay back the loan pretty quickly, so I decided to go with American Web Loan because they offered me the best loan for me.
I was a little skeptical at first because I've worked with other loan companies that tell you exactly what the interest will be and the total amount you will pay in the end, but I didn't see that with American Web Loan. After I accepted the loan, of course I went to research other peoples stories (backwards, I know), and I was HORRIFIED. What had I gotten myself into? Nearly everyone has had horror stories about the repayment of the loan being excessive high.
I went on their website to check my payment information, and it did seem like if you weren't able to pay them back in full and quickly, you might be stuck in the revolving door of mounting interest.
In my case, I was able to pay it back in full 3 weeks before the first payment was supposed to be debited from my account. In the end, I paid 30 something dollars in interest on a $500 loan. My piece of mind is DEFINITELY worth $30+, so I have nothing bad to say about American Web Loan from my experience. I'm not the type of person to borrow money, unless I absolutely know I can pay it back in a reasonable time.
I also don't borrow more than I can afford to pay back. For me it's floater money to get me through a week comfortably, so I don't have to stress about the little things in life. I cant say that I would use them again, mostly because I'm a little traumatized from how many people have had bad experiences. I don't want to push my luck.
Ideally, I never want to need another loan anyways, so there's always that goal.
A good lending company that I have really enjoyed working with is LendUp. They are reasonable with their rates and it's very user friendly.
I've been very satisfied with Lendup as well.
I needed quick cash to pay my kids college tuition balance. I ended up getting approved for 1100.
Like many, I paid the initial payment, which was $330. Prior to the second payment, I went online to make arrangements to pay the loan in full and was pretty shocked to see that the balance had not moved at all. In order for me to pay the loan off, I had to pay the 1100 plus another flexible payment of 330. So basically a six week loan costs me $660.
I guess that's the price you pay for having *** credit! But I will never use them again. AWL does not have to abide by state regulations since they are run by a {{Redacted}}.
Had I went with a company in my state, there would have been a limit on the amount of interest. Please stay away from this company and if you just get a loan, pay it off as soon as humanly possible.
That last post was a lie..500.00 with them is 150.00 a pay check (30.00 per 100.00) With 0.00 towards principal. They make the cash advance companies in my state look like charities.
At best the 500.00 loan will cost you 650.00 if you pay it off on the next pay day (first installment).

Got a loan for 500, after making 7 $150 payments i called to check my balance and they said i still owed 500 and to continue to pay 150 payments i would have to 3400 in the end, thats almost 700% interest!!!!!!!!!! I was not explained this when i obtained the loan. Do not use this company ever!!!!!!!
Attorneys wont help as they are an {{Redacted}} that is exempt from all Federal and State laws. You have got to read the fine print people!! Why are people such idiots!!!
why didn't you close your account until you resolved the problem? I closed my account and contacted my attorney..I had a 400 loan and paid back the 400 plus 120.00. they said that I had 9 more payments and I told them that my attorney will handle this, and I closed my account for the mean time.

Get a hold of your Bank and let them know what is going on. Let them know that AWL scamming you more than what the loan is worth.
They can either do a stop payment or close your account and open a new one. And do not respond back to AWL no matter what. It happen to me with 7 payments on a $400 loan. I was not going to give them any more of my hard earn money.
After a few days with trying to contact me thru emails they closed my account and consider paid in full.
Hope this helps you out.
